James T. Hittinger, Esq.

James T. Hittinger is an associate of Hecht & Associates, LLC and focuses on the areas of family law, criminal defense, general civil litigation and motions practice. Prior to joining Hecht & Associates, Mr. Hittinger practiced with Karp, Frosh, Lapidus, Wigodsky & Norwind, P.A., a Rockville, MD based civil litigation firm.

After graduating from Franklin and Marshall College in 2005 with a degree in English literature, in 2007 Mr. Hittinger enrolled in the University of Baltimore School of Law, graduating in 2010. While at UB, Mr. Hittinger captained the National Appellate Advocacy Competition Moot Court team to a regional championship, earning top honors in oral advocacy and brief writing. He also served on the Moot Court board for two years. In 2009, he was selected as a Rule 16 appellate advocate with the Maryland Office of the Public Defender, successfully appealing the indefinite detention of a mentally ill defendant unfit to stand trial.

Mr. Hittinger lives in Montgomery County, Maryland with his wife and son.
